Here's some of my artist's statement, for context:
Growing up, we lived on the Schumacher College campus in Dartington, where my parents both worked. As a result, I spent a great deal of my childhood exploring the Old Postern where the college is based. After the building was closed for roof repairs in 2018, I began having dreams in which I could walk around inside it.
The idea eventually came to me to create a digital representation of the structure, whose layout I was so familiar with but had not been able to enter for several years. My intention was not to produce a physically accurate model of how the building actually is, but rather, a representation of the place as I experienced it as a child. The layout was constructed more or less from memory.
The game doesn’t really have an objective; you can’t die or win. The point is just to explore the Postern’s nooks and crannies and maybe find some secrets hidden there.
